대해서 헐시티
England is not a large country by international standards but it has an immense variety of cultural landmarks and variations from place to place. Thus the development of what is formally known as association football was by no means spread uniformly across the country. Hull is a major port on the eastern coast of England at the southern extremity of the very large county of Yorkshire. Hull was, and to a large extent very much still is, a city devoted to the cause of Rugby League with two major clubs, and thus football took longer to take root, at least at the professional level. It was not until 1905-06 season that Hull City were admitted into the Second Division of the Football League where among the teams they played against were Manchester United and Chelsea along with Yorkshire rivals Barnsley, Bradford City and Leeds City.
Hull City have traditionally been known as the Tigers, reflecting the fact that they traditionally play in black and amber, sometimes with a striped shirt design. The club's mascots are Roary the Tiger and his sister Amber. This has recently been the cause of a great deal of off the field controversy as marketing plays such a big part in the funding of football teams in these days of runaway costs. The new owners of Hull City have been trying for several years to change the century old name of the Club to Hull Tigers feeling that would help in gaining international recognition but this has been rejected by the most vocal supporters and so far a change of registration has been slapped down by the Football Association.
For over half a century, Hull City’s home matches were played at the Boothferry Stadium but since 2002 the Club’s home is the KCom stadium as Boothferry is now a housing estate. It was not until 2008 that first tier football in the shape of the Premier League came to Hull and it was not the happiest of starts because they narrowly avoided relegation in their first season and succumbed in their second season. It was a similar story two years later; 16th place in 2013-14 but relegated again the next year. Only one more season was to elapse before victory in the Championship playoff brought Premier League football once again. However their experienced manager Steve Bruce found the strain too much and resigned in the close season.
The players who have made the most Premier League appearances in Hull City’s fairly brief period at the top include Ahmed Elmohamady 76, Paul McShane 74, Jake Livermore 71 , Tom Huddleston 67, Andy Dawson 60 and Geovanni 60.
The Club reached the FA Cup final just once in May 2014 when they started off like the proverbial racket against the might of Arsenal, leading 2-0 only to lose 3-2 after extra time.
