When one thinks of Salt Lake City, Utah, many things come to mind - the beautiful nature surrounding the city, eclipsed by the towering mountains The many hiking trails, family attractions, skiing and rock climbing. One also must take into consideration the Salt Lake Temple, home of the Mormon religious group, and Brigham Young University.
And for the past ten years, it's all about Imagine Dragons.
The Dragons have since moved and today they are based and operate from Las Vegas. But their roots are deep in Utah soil.
Very few rock and pop bands have exploded into mainstream music like Imagine Dragons have over the last decade. The album sales top the charts, or enter very near it, their songs streaming is measured by millions and their world tour are attended by hundreds of thousands.
The band was established in Salt Lake City in 2008 by friends who attended Brigham Young University. It took them four years to release their debut album "Night Visions" which has exploded –no other term for it – into the charts, went to the top ten in many countries in the United States and Europe, topped by three mega hits: "Its Time", "Radioactive" (which became the best-selling rock song in the digital area) and "Demons".
"Night Visions" was followed by six studio albums: "Smoke + Mirrors" (2015), "Evolve" (2017), "Origins" (2018), "Mercury – acts 1"s (2021), "Mercury – acts 2" (2022) and "Loom" (2024). In between, the band has released live albums.
Up to date Imagine Dragons has sold over 40 million albums and 55 million singles worldwide, 103.5 million digital singles and 74 billion global career streams.
The band has won 3 American Music Awards, 10 Billboard Music awards and 1 Grammy Award, among others.
Imagine Dragons has gone on seven world tours. The current is the Loom World Tour (2024-25), which has started in the United States, with date in Canada, Brazil, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, japan, Italy, Switzerland, Estonia, Sweden, Norway, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Poland and conclude in England.
